can: rx-offload: rename can_rx_offload_queue_sorted() -> can_rx_offload_queue_timestamp()

This patch renames the function can_rx_offload_queue_sorted() to
can_rx_offload_queue_timestamp(). This better describes what the
function does, it adds a newly RX'ed skb to the sorted queue by its
timestamp.

netlink: reset network and mac headers in netlink_dump()

netlink_dump() is allocating an skb, reserves space in it
but forgets to reset network header.

This allows a BPF program, invoked later from sk_filter()
to access uninitialized kernel memory from the reserved
space.

Theorically mac header reset could be omitted, because
it is set to a special initial value.
bpf_internal_load_pointer_neg_helper calls skb_mac_header()
without checking skb_mac_header_was_set().
Relying on skb->len not being too big seems fragile.
We also could add a sanity check in bpf_internal_load_pointer_neg_helper()
to avoid surprises in the future.

buffer called "ifname" given in function rtnl_dev_get
is always valid when called by setlink/newlink,
but contains only empty string when IFLA_IFNAME is not given. So
IFLA_ALT_IFNAME is always ignored

This patch fixes rtnl_dev_get function with a remove of ifname argument,
and move ifname copy in do_setlink when required.

rtnetlink: return ENODEV when ifname does not exist and group is given

When the interface does not exist, and a group is given, the given
parameters are being set to all interfaces of the given group. The given
IFNAME/ALT_IF_NAME are being ignored in that case.

That can be dangerous since a typo (or a deleted interface) can produce
weird side effects for caller:

Case 1:

 IFLA_IFNAME=valid_interface
 IFLA_GROUP=1
 MTU=1234

Case 1 will update MTU and group of the given interface "valid_interface".

Case 2:

 IFLA_IFNAME=doesnotexist
 IFLA_GROUP=1
 MTU=1234

Case 2 will update MTU of all interfaces in group 1. IFLA_IFNAME is
ignored in this case

This behaviour is not consistent and dangerous. In order to fix this issue,
we now return ENODEV when the given IFNAME does not exist.

from A to B. Then we can load balance packets from A
to B tx queue. The range is an unsigned 16bit value
in decimal format.

net: sched: use queue_mapping to pick tx queue

This patch fixes issue:
* If we install tc filters with act_skbedit in clsact hook.
  It doesn't work, because netdev_core_pick_tx() overwrites
  queue_mapping.

  $ tc filter ... action skbedit queue_mapping 1

And this patch is useful:
* We can use FQ + EDT to implement efficient policies. Tx queues
  are picked by xps, ndo_select_queue of netdev driver, or skb hash
  in netdev_core_pick_tx(). In fact, the netdev driver, and skb
  hash are _not_ under control. xps uses the CPUs map to select Tx
  queues, but we can't figure out which task_struct of pod/containter
  running on this cpu in most case. We can use clsact filters to classify
  one pod/container traffic to one Tx queue. Why ?

  In containter networking environment, there are two kinds of pod/
  containter/net-namespace. One kind (e.g. P1, P2), the high throughput
  is key in these applications. But avoid running out of network resource,
  the outbound traffic of these pods is limited, using or sharing one
  dedicated Tx queues assigned HTB/TBF/FQ Qdisc. Other kind of pods
  (e.g. Pn), the low latency of data access is key. And the traffic is not
  limited. Pods use or share other dedicated Tx queues assigned FIFO Qdisc.
  This choice provides two benefits. First, contention on the HTB/FQ Qdisc
  lock is significantly reduced since fewer CPUs contend for the same queue.
  More importantly, Qdisc contention can be eliminated completely if each
  CPU has its own FIFO Qdisc for the second kind of pods.

  There must be a mechanism in place to support classifying traffic based on
  pods/container to different Tx queues. Note that clsact is outside of Qdisc
  while Qdisc can run a classifier to select a sub-queue under the lock.

  In general recording the decision in the skb seems a little heavy handed.
  This patch introduces a per-CPU variable, suggested by Eric.

  The xmit.skip_txqueue flag is firstly cleared in __dev_queue_xmit().
  - Tx Qdisc may install that skbedit actions, then xmit.skip_txqueue flag
    is set in qdisc->enqueue() though tx queue has been selected in
    netdev_tx_queue_mapping() or netdev_core_pick_tx(). That flag is cleared
    firstly in __dev_queue_xmit(), is useful:
  - Avoid picking Tx queue with netdev_tx_queue_mapping() in next netdev
    in such case: eth0 macvlan - eth0.3 vlan - eth0 ixgbe-phy:
    For example, eth0, macvlan in pod, which root Qdisc install skbedit
    queue_mapping, send packets to eth0.3, vlan in host. In __dev_queue_xmit() of
    eth0.3, clear the flag, does not select tx queue according to skb->queue_mapping
    because there is no filters in clsact or tx Qdisc of this netdev.
    Same action taked in eth0, ixgbe in Host.
  - Avoid picking Tx queue for next packet. If we set xmit.skip_txqueue
    in tx Qdisc (qdisc->enqueue()), the proper way to clear it is clearing it
    in __dev_queue_xmit when processing next packets.

  For performance reasons, use the static key. If user does not config the NET_EGRESS,
  the patch will not be compiled.

When the user runs:
bridge link set dev $br_port mcast_flood on

this command should affect not only L2 multicast, but also IPv4 and IPv6
multicast.

In the Ocelot switch, unknown multicast gets flooded according to
different PGIDs according to its type, and PGID_MC only handles L2
multicast. Therefore, by leaving PGID_MCIPV4 and PGID_MCIPV6 at their
default value of 0, unknown IP multicast traffic is never flooded.

net: dsa: hellcreek: Calculate checksums in tagger

In case the checksum calculation is offloaded to the DSA master network
interface, it will include the switch trailing tag. As soon as the switch strips
that tag on egress, the calculated checksum is wrong.

Therefore, add the checksum calculation to the tagger (if required) before
adding the switch tag. This way, the hellcreek code works with all DSA master
interfaces regardless of their declared feature set.

This will reset deeply on freeze and thaw instead of suspend and
resume and prevent null pointer dereferences of the uninitialized ring
0 buffer while thawing.

The impact is an indefinitely hanging kernel. You can't switch

The bug has been present since the introduction of the new pm code in
8aaa112a57c1 ("net: atlantic: refactoring pm logic") and was hidden
until 8ce84271697a ("net: atlantic: changes for multi-TC support"),
which refactored the aq_vec_{free,alloc} functions into
aq_vec_{,ring}_{free,alloc}, but is technically not wrong. The
original functions just always reinitialized the buffers on S3/S4. If
the interface is down before freezing, the bug does not occur. It does
not matter, whether the initrd contains and loads the module before
thawing.

So the fix is to invert the boolean parameter deep in all pm function
calls, which was clearly intended to be set like that.

First report was on Github [1], which you have to guess from the
resume logs in the posted dmesg snippet. Recently I posted one on
Bugzilla [2], since I did not have an AQC device so far.

To be consistent with the port split configuration (splitter cabels),
the line card entities are treated in the similar way. The nature of
a line card is not "a pluggable device", but "a pluggable PHY module".

A concept of "provisioning" is introduced. The user may "provision"
certain slot with a line card type. Driver then creates all instances
(devlink ports, netdevices, etc) related to this line card type. It does
not matter if the line card is plugged-in at the time. User is able to
configure netdevices, devlink ports, setup port splitters, etc. From the
perspective of the switch ASIC, all is present and can be configured.

The carrier of netdevices stays down if the line card is not plugged-in.
Once the line card is inserted and activated, the carrier of
the related netdevices is then reflecting the physical line state,
same as for an ordinary fixed port.

Once user does not want to use the line card related instances
anymore, he can "unprovision" the slot. Driver then removes the
instances.

Patches 1-4 are extending devlink driver API and UAPI in order to
register, show, dump, provision and activate the line card.
Patches 5-17 are implementing the introduced API in mlxsw.
The last patch adds a selftest for mlxsw line cards.

When DSDSC event with "ready" bit set is delivered, that means the
line card is powered up. Use MDDC register to push the line card to

In order to be able to configure all needed stuff on a port/netdevice
of a line card without the line card being present, introduce line card
provisioning. Basically by setting a type, provisioning process will
start and driver is supposed to create a placeholder for instances
(ports/netdevices) for a line card type.

Allow the user to query the supported line card types over line card
get command. Then implement two netlink command SET to allow user to
set/unset the card type.

On the driver API side, add provision/unprovision ops and supported
types array to be advertised. Upon provision op call, the driver should
take care of creating the instances for the particular line card type.
Introduce provision_set/clear() functions to be called by the driver
once the provisioning/unprovisioning is done on its side. These helpers
are not to be called directly due to the async nature of provisioning.

The first attempt to fix a the 'impossible' WARN_ON_ONCE(1) in
isotp_tx_timer_handler() focussed on the identical CAN IDs created by
the syzbot reproducer and lead to upstream fix/commit 3ea566422cbd
("can: isotp: sanitize CAN ID checks in isotp_bind()"). But this did
not catch the root cause of the wrong tx.state in the tx_timer handler.

In the isotp 'first frame' case a timeout monitoring needs to be started
before the 'first frame' is send. But when this sending failed the timeout
monitoring for this specific frame has to be disabled too.

Otherwise the tx_timer is fired with the 'warn me' tx.state of ISOTP_IDLE.

Commit b5f862180d70 was introduced to discard lowest hash bit for layer3+4 hashing
but it also removes last bit from non layer3+4 hashing

tcp_rcv_state_process() incorrectly drops packets
instead of consuming it, making drop monitor very noisy,
if not unusable.

Calling tcp_time_wait() or tcp_done() is part
of standard behavior, packets triggering these actions
were not dropped.

The code changed a lot during times and we have many old logic
that can be replaced with new implementation

The first patch drop the tracking of MTU. We mimic what was done
for mtk and we change MTU only when CPU port is changed.

The second patch finally drop a piece of story of this driver.
The ar8xxx_port_status struct was used by the first implementation
of this driver to put all sort of status data for the port...
With the evolution of DSA all that stuff got dropped till only
the enabled state was the only part of the that struct.
Since it's overkill to keep an array of int, we convert the variable
to a simple u8 where we store the status of each port. This is needed
to don't reanable ports on system resume.

The third patch is a preparation for patch 4. As Vladimir explained
in another patch, we waste a tons of space by keeping a duplicate of
the switch dsa ops in qca8k_priv. The only reason for this is to
dynamically set the correct mdiobus configuration (a legacy dsa one,
or a custom dedicated one)
To solve this problem, we just drop the phy_read/phy_write and we
declare a custom mdiobus in any case.
This way we can use a static dsa switch ops struct and we can drop it
from qca8k_priv

Patch 4 drop the duplicated dsa_switch_ops.

Patch 5 is a fixup for mdio read error.

Patch 6 is an effort to standardize how bus name are done.

This series is just a start of more cleanup.

The idea is to move this driver to the qca dir and split common code
from specific code. Also the mgmt eth code still requires some love
and can totally be optimized by recycling the same skb over time.

Also while working on the MTU it was notice some problem with
the stmmac driver and with the reloading phase that cause all
sort of problems with qca8k.

I'm sending this here just to try to keep small series instead of
proposing monster series hard to review.

In an attempt to reduce qca8k_priv space, rework and simplify mdiobus
logic.
We now declare a mdiobus instead of relying on DSA phy_read/write even
if a mdio node is not present. This is all to make the qca8k ops static
and not switch specific. With a legacy implementation where port doesn't
have a phy map declared in the dts with a mdio node, we declare a
'qca8k-legacy' mdiobus. The conversion logic is used as legacy read and
write ops are used instead of the internal one.
Also drop the legacy_phy_port_mapping as we now declare mdiobus with ops
that already address the workaround.

Port_sts is a thing of the past for this driver. It was something
present on the initial implementation of this driver and parts of the
original struct were dropped over time. Using an array of int to store if
a port is enabled or not to handle PM operation seems overkill. Switch
and use a simple u8 to store the port status where each bit correspond
to a port. (bit is set port is enabled, bit is not set, port is disabled)
Also add some comments to better describe why we need to track port
status.

DSA set the CPU port based on the largest MTU of all the slave ports.
Based on this we can drop the MTU array from qca8k_priv and set the
port_change_mtu logic on DSA changing MTU of the CPU port as the switch
have a global MTU settingfor each port.

A new sysctl endpoint is created to turn on this behaviour:

   fault after some non-zero amount of data has been read, which makes

   unsigned long or a cycles_t, now it just returns an unsigned long.

 - A memcpy() was replaced with an memmove(), because the addresses are
   sometimes overlapping. In practice the destination is always before
   the source, so not really an issue, but better to be correct than
   not.

random: use memmove instead of memcpy for remaining 32 bytes

In order to immediately overwrite the old key on the stack, before
servicing a userspace request for bytes, we use the remaining 32 bytes
of block 0 as the key. This means moving indices 8,9,a,b,c,d,e,f ->
4,5,6,7,8,9,a,b. Since 4 < 8, for the kernel implementations of
memcpy(), this doesn't actually appear to be a problem in practice. But
relying on that characteristic seems a bit brittle. So let's change that
to a proper memmove(), which is the by-the-books way of handling
overlapping memory copies.

Fast coprocessor exception handler saves a3..a6, but coprocessor context
load/store code uses a4..a7 as temporaries, potentially clobbering a7.
'Potentially' because coprocessor state load/store macros may not use
all four temporary registers (and neither FPU nor HiFi macros do).
Use a3..a6 as intended.

The callers may not quite know the actual address they pass(e.g. from
devicetree).  So the kmemleak_*_phys() apis should guarantee the address
they finally use is in lowmem range, so check the address for lowmem's

mm/vmalloc: fix spinning drain_vmap_work after reading from /proc/vmcore

Commit 3ee48b6af49c ("mm, x86: Saving vmcore with non-lazy freeing of
vmas") introduced set_iounmap_nonlazy(), which sets vmap_lazy_nr to
lazy_max_pages() + 1, ensuring that any future vunmaps() immediately
purge the vmap areas instead of doing it lazily.

Commit 690467c81b1a ("mm/vmalloc: Move draining areas out of caller
context") moved the purging from the vunmap() caller to a worker thread.
Unfortunately, set_iounmap_nonlazy() can cause the worker thread to spin
(possibly forever).  For example, consider the following scenario:

 1. Thread reads from /proc/vmcore. This eventually calls
    __copy_oldmem_page() -> set_iounmap_nonlazy(), which sets
    vmap_lazy_nr to lazy_max_pages() + 1.

 2. Then it calls free_vmap_area_noflush() (via iounmap()), which adds 2
    pages (one page plus the guard page) to the purge list and
    vmap_lazy_nr. vmap_lazy_nr is now lazy_max_pages() + 3, so the
    drain_vmap_work is scheduled.

 3. Thread returns from the kernel and is scheduled out.

 4. Worker thread is scheduled in and calls drain_vmap_area_work(). It
    frees the 2 pages on the purge list. vmap_lazy_nr is now
    lazy_max_pages() + 1.

 5. This is still over the threshold, so it tries to purge areas again,
    but doesn't find anything.

 6. Repeat 5.

If the system is running with only one CPU (which is typicial for kdump)
and preemption is disabled, then this will never make forward progress:
there aren't any more pages to purge, so it hangs.  If there is more
than one CPU or preemption is enabled, then the worker thread will spin
forever in the background.  (Note that if there were already pages to be
purged at the time that set_iounmap_nonlazy() was called, this bug is
avoided.)

This can be reproduced with anything that reads from /proc/vmcore
multiple times.  E.g., vmcore-dmesg /proc/vmcore.

It turns out that improvements to vmap() over the years have obsoleted
the need for this "optimization".  I benchmarked `dd if=/proc/vmcore
of=/dev/null` with 4k and 1M read sizes on a system with a 32GB vmcore.
The test was run on 5.17, 5.18-rc1 with a fix that avoided the hang, and
5.18-rc1 with set_iounmap_nonlazy() removed entirely:

The removal was the fastest (by a wide margin with 4k reads).  This
patch removes set_iounmap_nonlazy().

hugetlb: do not demote poisoned hugetlb pages

It is possible for poisoned hugetlb pages to reside on the free lists.
The huge page allocation routines which dequeue entries from the free
lists make a point of avoiding poisoned pages.  There is no such check
and avoidance in the demote code path.

If a hugetlb page on the is on a free list, poison will only be set in
the head page rather then the page with the actual error.  If such a
page is demoted, then the poison flag may follow the wrong page.  A page
without error could have poison set, and a page with poison could not
have the flag set.

Check for poison before attempting to demote a hugetlb page.  Also,
return -EBUSY to the caller if only poisoned pages are on the free list.

The swap_slot_free_notify is bogus for CLONE_VM case since it doesn't
increase the refcount of swap slot at copy_mm so it couldn't catch up
whether it's safe or not to discard data from backing device.  In the
case, only the lock it could rely on to synchronize swap slot freeing is
page table lock.  Thus, this patch gets rid of the swap_slot_free_notify
function.  With this patch, CPU A will see correct data.

The concern of the patch would increase memory consumption since it
could keep wasted memory with compressed form in zram as well as
uncompressed form in address space.  However, most of cases of zram uses

Since commit 6aa303defb74 ("mm, vmscan: only allocate and reclaim from
zones with pages managed by the buddy allocator") only zones with free
memory are included in a built zonelist.  This is problematic when e.g.
all memory of a zone has been ballooned out when zonelists are being
rebuilt.

The decision whether to rebuild the zonelists when onlining new memory
is done based on populated_zone() returning 0 for the zone the memory
will be added to.  The new zone is added to the zonelists only, if it
has free memory pages (managed_zone() returns a non-zero value) after
the memory has been onlined.  This implies, that onlining memory will
always free the added pages to the allocator immediately, but this is
not true in all cases: when e.g. running as a Xen guest the onlined new
memory will be added only to the ballooned memory list, it will be freed
only when the guest is being ballooned up afterwards.

Another problem with using managed_zone() for the decision whether a
zone is being added to the zonelists is, that a zone with all memory
used will in fact be removed from all zonelists in case the zonelists
happen to be rebuilt.

Use populated_zone() when building a zonelist as it has been done before
that commit.

There was a report that QubesOS (based on Xen) is hitting this problem.
Xen has switched to use the zone device functionality in kernel 5.9 and
QubesOS wants to use memory hotplugging for guests in order to be able
to start a guest with minimal memory and expand it as needed.  This was
the report leading to the patch.

mm, kfence: support kmem_dump_obj() for KFENCE objects

Calling kmem_obj_info() via kmem_dump_obj() on KFENCE objects has been
producing garbage data due to the object not actually being maintained
by SLAB or SLUB.

Fix this by implementing __kfence_obj_info() that copies relevant
information to struct kmem_obj_info when the object was allocated by
KFENCE; this is called by a common kmem_obj_info(), which also calls the
slab/slub/slob specific variant now called __kmem_obj_info().

For completeness, kmem_dump_obj() now displays if the object was
allocated by KFENCE.

kasan: fix hw tags enablement when KUNIT tests are disabled

Kasan enables hw tags via kasan_enable_tagging() which based on the mode
passed via kernel command line selects the correct hw backend.
kasan_enable_tagging() is meant to be invoked indirectly via the cpu
features framework of the architectures that support these backends.
Currently the invocation of this function is guarded by
CONFIG_KASAN_KUNIT_TEST which allows the enablement of the correct backend
only when KUNIT tests are enabled in the kernel.

This inconsistency was introduced in commit:

  ed6d74446cbf ("kasan: test: support async (again) and asymm modes for HW_TAGS")

... and prevents to enable MTE on arm64 when KUNIT tests for kasan hw_tags are
disabled.

Fix the issue making sure that the CONFIG_KASAN_KUNIT_TEST guard does not
prevent the correct invocation of kasan_enable_tagging().

mm/secretmem: fix panic when growing a memfd_secret

When one tries to grow an existing memfd_secret with ftruncate, one gets
a panic [1].  For example, doing the following reliably induces the
panic:

    fd = memfd_secret();

    ftruncate(fd, 10);
    ptr = mmap(NULL, 10, PROT_READ | PROT_WRITE, MAP_SHARED, fd, 0);
    strcpy(ptr, "123456789");

    munmap(ptr, 10);
    ftruncate(fd, 20);

The basic reason for this is, when we grow with ftruncate, we call down
into simple_setattr, and then truncate_inode_pages_range, and eventually
we try to zero part of the memory.  The normal truncation code does this
via the direct map (i.e., it calls page_address() and hands that to
memset()).

For memfd_secret though, we specifically don't map our pages via the
direct map (i.e.  we call set_direct_map_invalid_noflush() on every
fault).  So the address returned by page_address() isn't useful, and
when we try to memset() with it we panic.

This patch avoids the panic by implementing a custom setattr for
memfd_secret, which detects resizes specifically (setting the size for
the first time works just fine, since there are no existing pages to try
to zero), and rejects them with EINVAL.

One could argue growing should be supported, but I think that will
require a significantly more lengthy change.  So, I propose a minimal
fix for the benefit of stable kernels, and then perhaps to extend
memfd_secret to support growing in a separate patch.

tmpfs: fix regressions from wider use of ZERO_PAGE

Chuck Lever reported fsx-based xfstests generic 075 091 112 127 failing
when 5.18-rc1 NFS server exports tmpfs: bisected to recent tmpfs change.

Whilst nfsd_splice_action() does contain some questionable handling of
repeated pages, and Chuck was able to work around there, history from
Mark Hemment makes clear that there might be similar dangers elsewhere:
it was not a good idea for me to pass ZERO_PAGE down to unknown actors.

Revert shmem_file_read_iter() to using ZERO_PAGE for holes only when
iter_is_iovec(); in other cases, use the more natural iov_iter_zero()
instead of copy_page_to_iter().

We would use iov_iter_zero() throughout, but the x86 clear_user() is not
nearly so well optimized as copy to user (dd of 1T sparse tmpfs file
takes 57 seconds rather than 44 seconds).

And now pagecache_init() does not need to SetPageUptodate(ZERO_PAGE(0)):
which had caused boot failure on arm noMMU STM32F7 and STM32H7 boards

Reads and Writes to ip6_rt_gc_expire always have been racy,
as syzbot reported lately [1]

There is a possible risk of under-flow, leading
to unexpected high value passed to fib6_run_gc(),
although I have not observed this in the field.

Hosts hitting ip6_dst_gc() very hard are under pretty bad
state anyway.

a gre use case with dummy devices. Add a check to ip_tunnel_init_flow
to see if the oif is an l3mdev port and if so set the oif to 0 to
avoid the oif comparison in fib_lookup_good_nhc.

I found that whenever call to tcf_exts_init()
from u32_init_knode() is failing, we end up
with an elevated refcount on ht->refcnt

To avoid that, only increase the refcount after
all possible errors have been evaluated.

We are now able to detect extra put_net() at the moment
they happen, instead of much later in correct code paths.

u32_init_knode() / tcf_exts_init() populates the ->exts.net
pointer, but as mentioned in tcf_exts_init(),
the refcount on netns has not been elevated yet.

The refcount is taken only once tcf_exts_get_net()
is called.

So the two u32_destroy_key() calls from u32_change()
are attempting to release an invalid reference on the netns.

syzbot report:

This series contains updates to igc and e1000e drivers.

Sasha removes waiting for hardware semaphore as it could cause an
infinite loop and changes usleep_range() calls done under atomic
context to udelay() for igc. For e1000e, he changes some variables from
u16 to u32 to prevent possible overflow of values.

Vinicius disables PTM when going to suspend as it is causing hang issues
on some platforms for igc.

i2c: dev: check return value when calling dev_set_name()

If dev_set_name() fails, the dev_name() is null, check the return
value of dev_set_name() to avoid the null-ptr-deref.
